Donor Information
Payroll Giving is a great way to support good causes because it provides regular income that enables charities to plan and budget for their future and it is tax efficient; you received immediate tax relief of up to £4 for every £10 donated because the donation is made in your salary, after National Insurance but before tax. So if you donate £10 each month it would cost you only £7.80 (or £6 if you are a higher rate taxpayer).
If you choose to support the Five of Hearts, we estimate that your donation will reach over 400,000 children and adults throughout our area. This is because every donation we receive is shared equally between our five members. Further information about our members can be found from our home page.
This table explains how the donations will work every month:
| Employee Pledge | Cost to Standard Taxpayer | Cost to HigherTaxpayer |
| £1 per month | 78p | 60p |
| £5 per month | £3.90 | £3.00 |
| £10 per month | £7.80 | £6.00 |
| £15 per month | £11.70 | £9.00 |
Please note, there is between 0-4% administration fee for each donation charged to the donor. Most employers pay this charge on behalf of their employees. Why don't you ask you employer to do this? That way 100% will come to us.
Now you have the facts, please consider investing in the Five of Hearts.
If you would like to support these five local charities all at once, decide how much you want to give remembering that your donation will be tax efficient, fill out the Payroll Giving Form and pass the completed form to your payroll department who will make the donations for you. Click here to download the Payroll Giving Form.
Please tick the box that will allow us to keep you informed of what we are spending your donation on. We assure you, we will absolutely not sale/rent/lend/give your contact details to anyone else and will only contact you quarterly with our e-newsletter to let you know how the five members are using your generosity if you would like to hear from us.
Quotations from current Payroll Givers;
'Payroll Giving is a lot easier than organising standing orders and filling in lots of forms'.
'I think its a good idea; you don't have to do anything. People have the best intentions to give regularly to charities, but if you have to pay it out yourself you tend to leave it. Taken out of your wages, you don't miss it'.
'Fabulous idea. I wish more people realised the difference it makes'.
'An excellent system - painless giving'.
